CURRENT EXHIBITION: EARTH + WATER

One medium: two women: two places
Anne Murray and Tracy Loughlin respond in watercolour to two very different environments, one in Walgett, the other in the inner west of Sydney.

Left: Annie Murray Old Faithful
Right: Tracy Loughlin Mangrove

PLEASE RSVP TO THE EXHIBITION OPENING on Thursday April 13 HERE!

ABOUT ANNIE MURRAY: Inspired by the vast western plains and isolated rural landscape of New South Wales, Annie is passionate about capturing the essence and vibrant colours of her beautiful surroundings, through her favourite medium of watercolour. Living on a property near Walgett in Western NSW, Annie spends her time painting commissioned artworks, mentoring the “Walgett Art Group” and enjoying life on the family farm (in particular babysitting her baby grand daughters). She especially enjoys painting portraits and animals. The “Walgett Art Group” meet every Thursday to paint and nurture their artistic skills. They have regular exhibitions, workshops and fundraisers for the local hospital and community. The tight-knit local group provides a fabulous network of friends to support each other in times of hardship (mostly droughts).

ABOUT TRACY LOUGHLIN: Inspired by the water and local mangrove area of her surroundings, Tracy uses inks, pastel and watercolour to create patterns and capture snapshots of nature in the urban environment. Living in Five Dock, the inner west water ways are a constant source of inspiration and calm so close to the city. Tracy splits her time between working in graphic design, illustration and painting, drawing from nature and urban surroundings mostly to create patterns and images for surface design.

Sales from this exhibition support the high school candidates of Moorambilla Voices MAXed OUT Company.

Exhibition opens Thursday 13 April, 6pm – 8.30pm and continues 13 April – 27 June, 2017. Free.

The evening is peppered with conversation and songs that have been little milestones in Clive’s incredibly musical life. With a complimentary cold glass of bubbles, enjoy ‘Lines By a Lovelorn Cowhand’ by Martin Wesley Smith to ‘Ne me quitte pas‘ by Jacques Brel and the hilarious ‘Devonshire Cream and Cider’ by Wilfred Sanderson. Accompanied by Ben ‘Big Hands’ Burton on piano, Clive brings a musical and wry look back in time to Studio MV. March 16 – 17 – 18.

Born in the UK, Clive discovered his adult voice during the first year of his B. Mus. course at Huddersfield Polytechnic, going on to win the Gold Medal at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 1977. After spending two years with the renowned D’Oyly Carte Opera Company, he completed further study at the prestigious National Opera Studio and thence to Glyndebourne. He moved to Australia in 1987 becoming an iconic member of The Song Company until 2014, after which he was asked to become part of the Moorambilla artistic team.
