Now in it’s eighth year, the Moorambilla Festival is gearing up for a remarkable weekend from 19-22 September of outstanding music, great food and good company in Coonamble, Baradine and Gulargambone. Together we create major collaborative works to inspire and ignite your passion for this region and showcase its incredible creativity and capacity.
There is something for everyone at this truly regional festival. Have a go and sing it up country in workshops down the main street of Coonamble. Try your hand at weaving, making tin things, pub opera, Japanese Taiko drumming or Armenian singing. See the talented Moorambilla Voices and MAXed OUT Company dance and sing live with TaikOz, Song Company, Sydney Symphony Fellowship, the Leichhardt Espresso Chorus, and the choir and big band from Hunter School of the Performing Arts.
See festival venues adorned with massive fabric fishing nets and incredible canvases from local Indigenous artist Frank Wright and Ngemba Wailwan Artists. Be amazed by the beauty of the performance venues, from the art deco glory of the Plaza Theatre and Monterey Café in Coonamble, to a special concert in the ancient Pilliga Scrub. Be delighted by fire sculptures and soundscapes, outstanding ceramics, flowers and homemade goodies for sale. Experience tables groaning under the weight of delicious high teas as the sounds of a jazz band float down the street. Come to the spectacular Gala Concert in the Coonamble Pavillion. This is Moorambilla. Experience it for yourself, fabulous and firsthand.
